Consuming my time - I love it

This is my new project that has been consuming all of my time lately and I love it. My baby girl was born on February 3rd, 7lb 5oz and 20" long. Art projects have been slowly grinding along but nothing to the extent that I want or need to do before my June show. My photography skills should eventually improve with all the pictures that I have been taking of her lately(such as the above one). I will keep on plugging along, but sorry for slowwwwwww updates.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! What a wonderful day to celebrate with family and friends. Christmas is my favorite time of year for many different reasons. The Christmas songs that play nonstop on the radio for like 2 months solid, cookies, lights, stockings, cookies, Christmas trees, putting out our Nativity set, cookies...well you get the drift. There are 1000's of different things that remind me of this time of the year and when I was a kid eagerly awaiting opening presents. As a child, my favorite presents were my GiJoes, Transformers, and Legos and video games. Not much has changed throughout these years but I do remember something that my family did ever Christmas morning. We would wake up and before any presents were passed out by mom, we would sing Happy Birthday to Jesus and one of us would read Luke 2 from the Bible. The Christmas story is one that most people are familiar with. Joseph and Mary travel to Bethlehem; Mary gives birth to Jesus in a stable; Angels appear to shepherds and tell them of Jesus' birth and they go and to find Joseph, Mary, and Jesus. When they find Jesus they glorify and praise God.
Why you may ask would they praise God over a little baby being born in a stable? It is because of what the angels had told them. Not just where Jesus was born but who he is and why he was being born. Luke 2:10 - "good news of great joy, to all people! For unto you is born this day in the city of David A SAVIOR who is Christ the Lord."
The Savior for ALL people! That is why they were excited and went immediately to Bethlehem. They had a message from God that he had sent His Son to to be born in the likeness of men(Philippians 2:7). Not just to come here and live out his life as we do. He came to save us from our sins. He paid the ultimate price for us, he gave up His life so that we can live with him forever in Heaven.
When I think about all that Jesus has done for us and that it all started on His birthday, it makes me stop and really praise Him and thank Him for His love and sacrifice. As you are out and about today with family & friends and if you do read Luke 2, take an extra couple minutes and soak in what this day really represents and why it is celebrated all over the world. Have a safe and Merry Christmas and we'll see ya next year!

25 Days of Christmas

I enjoy Christmas time more than any other time of the year. The start of the holiday rush on Black Friday is something I'm not a huge fan of but with my wife's help, its beginning to grow on me. Whether your like me and try to do shopping earlier, or wait until Christmas Eve, there are a million things to do all month long. I am trying to slow down for a few minutes a day and do some amateur photography. So I've decided to post a picture a day for 25 days(this post is late so I've already begun, go back through the archives and catch the past 2 days) on Light Sheep Studios website. This will accomplish, if nothing else, more regular postings between sites. Merry Christmas and hope you all enjoy them!

Macheist nano bundle

I just found out about this, and you read this before time is left go download it. The Macheist bundles have always been a great deal for consumers. You get alot of different Mac apps for a very little price. This year they have a Nanobundle which is completely....FREE. There are some great programs in this too.

"We like to think of our job as helping introduce the great indie software out there to you guys, the Mac users. Over the past 3 years, between heist prize apps and discounted software bundles, we’ve distributed over 4 million software licenses to hundreds of thousands of Mac users around the world.

But as we stared at this year’s bundle, thinking of ways to reach as many Mac users as we could with this collection of amazing apps, we had a crazy idea. The kind of idea that at first seems preposterous. An idea that involved, just this once, removing the only remaining barrier of any significance: the bundle’s price.

Say hello to the MacHeist nanoBundle. It’s the same bundle of quality Mac software that you know and love… but it’s entirely free.

Download it. Enjoy it. And tell your friends about it, because it’ll be gone in under a week, never to return again. Grab it now!"

Labor Day Weekend!

Well as the Holiday suggests, Labor is what I did. Along with house projects and putting together a crib and changing table, I moved the website over to Wordpress this weekend. I've wanted to do this for a long time to help make it easier for me to update more often because I've been terrible about it lately. So hopefully this is a new thing that will turn into more updates. There are still some things that need to be fixed on the site but its 90% functional. Off to bed.

Check out the new site and let me know what you think! -

Swedish Kung Fu packing techniques

I dont know how they do it but Ikea always amazes me how they pack their products. We made our final trips to Ikea recently and I purchased a great file drawer for different papers. A simple small box that should weigh mabey 20 pounds max but when I went to lift it, it felt like a lead block. Pictures below show how much stuff is packed in that tiny box ....

Jonah: Journey to Nineveh - Proof

I received a nice little package in the mail yesterday. It was the first printed proof of Jonah. I was more than pleased with this proof. The printer has done an awesome job with the cover and the interior pages look great. I still need to look over it with a fine tooth comb before I approve this version as the final version, but from just browsing through it, it looks awesome. On the final stretch now and I cant wait to share some more , but for now it will have to wait until this proofing stage is done.

Jonah: Journey to Nineveh

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We all have a lot to be thankful for and I personally have a metric ton to be thankful for. For starters as you can see above, the children's book that I have been working on has finally come to the end and its ready for first print proofing. The cover (above) was just about the last step for this project. Thank you Jesus for seeing me through my own "journey" while doing this book. More to come l8tr...

Winter Wonder Slam Tour -TobyMac

We just got back from WWS tonight at the Bi-Lo Center. What a great concert....well most of it was great. For starters we had great seats - Dead center stage, Row C, seats 1&2 so I was prepared for loudness. First up was a new artist - B.Reith. His name is pronounced Reith(silent e, with long I) so everyone gave him a hard time about the pronunciation..he even did himself. He has a great melodic voice for the little that he sang. He was only on stage for 15 minutes or less. Than up comes Family Force 5....my ears were not prepared for them. Theirs was the only set that everything was too loud. I wonder if they did a sound check before it all started. Everything drowned out everything. It just sounded like noise, and their recorded tracks do not sound like that. Then Reliant K came out. They were great. Very positive Christ centered message, had some fun songs like Sadie Hawkins Dance, Mood Rings and they also played some Christmas music. They also played a new Christmas song with animated short-
Relient K - Sleigh Ride from gotee on Vimeo.

After they were done, Toby and the Diverse City Band came out and put on a great concert. He gave a story about when he was 9 or 10, his father was a real estate investor (i think thats what it was) and on his business card he had Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? He said he was reading that verse 3 years ago when he was writing songs for "Portable Sounds" and how God used that seed that was planted when he was little to write "Lose my soul" years later.(fantastic song btw). There were a couple other sing-a-longs and praise songs to God that the crowd participated in as well. TobyMac did not dissapoint. It was a lot of fun and also as usual a very encouraging, Christ centered concert. Its great to see an artist stay strong and not water their message down because of fame or fortune. oh one more thing, they showed clips of old Christmas cartoons like the Peanuts Christmas, Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, etc on the 2 monitors in the front of the stage. I love that bumble -

Portable Sounds

I just bought tobyMac's "Portable Sounds" off of iTunes last night and I love it. It is such a great album. I was able to see dc Talk on their Supernatural tour years ago and it was awesome. They were a great band that showed their talent as they grew musically and spiritually. On the Supernatural tour I was able to see not only their musical abilities but a very intimate spiritual side that showed their close walk with God and personal testimonies. With that said I cant wait til 11/13 @ the Bilo Center. Here's a clip off you tube of "I was made to love"(only decent quality clip of the song I could find ;)
